Paper Boat offers warm, personalized, play-based speech and language support for children, as they develop their speech, language, and communication skills and find confidence in expressing themselves.
Small beginnings.
Big journeys.
A paper boat is one of childhood's simplest creations. Folded by hand, launched with hope, and carried forward one gentle wave at a time, it reminds us that small beginnings can lead to remarkable journeys.

Welcome to Paper Boat! Hi, I'm Tracy. I'm a pediatric speech-language pathologist who loves helping children find their voice, build confidence, and connect with the world around them. I created Paper Boat to offer thoughtful, individualized therapy in a warm supportive setting.
I bring more than thirty years of experience supporting children’s speech, language, and communication, along with creativity, curiosity, and flexibility. Getting to know what makes each child light up-and finding ways to bring those interests into therapy-is one of the things I enjoy most about my work.
Every child is different, and good therapy means finding what works, adjusting along the way, and celebrating every step of progress.

Speech Spot
Simple tips, ideas, and activities to help build communication skills at home.
-
Talk about what you’re doing: Describe everyday activities using simple, clear language.
-
Give choices: “Do you want apples or crackers?” instead of asking an open-ended question.
-
Pause and wait: Give your child a few extra seconds to respond, gesture, or use words.
-
Add one more word: If your child says “car,” you can say “red car” or “car go.”
-
Read and talk: Pause during books to point, name, comment, and let your child join in.
-
Follow their lead: Join in with what your child is already interested in and talk about it together.
Give your child extra time to respond—pause, wait, and let them know you’re listening.
